Here we have an Off-Shore AP that has had a few polishes in the past. The defined edges have been blended a bit and the edges a bit softer than we would personally consider acceptable. Typically a watch in this condition we would send out for lasering to add material back on to the case as well as lap the case to get crisp defined edges. The customer did not want to pay for additional services and wanted the watch back on his wrist with out months of waiting. We were able to hand refinish to restore some of the scratches and finishes. There is no right or wrong choice when it comes to refinishing.
